Giving to Camphill Foundation

Fundraising Guidelines

Camphill Foundation appreciates and wishes to support the commitment of its board members and donors in raising funds for Camphill Foundation and its various funds. According to the IRS, events that raise money for Camphill Foundation or any of its funds are considered to be affiliated with Camphill Foundation. The foundation respects the rights of the donors to all of its funds, operates with best fund-raising practices, and acts with fiduciary responsibility.

Guidelines

  • Camphill Foundation must be notified in writing of all fundraising activities for a fund, regardless of size or type.
  • Written notification must be received at least three months prior to the event.
  • All materials (on-line, print, interviews, invitations, announcements and etc.) will note the mission statement and website of Camphill Foundation, and the name of the Foundation fund (for example, ABC Fund). The Foundation must approve all materials before they are mailed.
  • Camphill Foundation has the final decision of whether a sponsor’s web link will appear on the website of Camphill Foundation.
  • Activities must be approved by Camphill Foundation. Camphill Foundation has the right not to approve any fundraising activity that does not reflect its mission or core values.
  • The fundraising group is responsible for planning the event, publicity, and collection of contributions.
  • All fundraising events must disclose to donors that only the amount above the value of the goods or services received may be tax-deductible.
  • Along with each cash and in-kind donation, the fundraising group is responsible for providing the donor’s address, the donation amount, and the type and date of each contribution no later than five days after the event.
  • Cash contributions are made to Camphill Foundation, with name of the fund mentioned in the memo section.
  • Acknowledgement letters will be written and signed by the CEO of Camphill Foundation.
  • An administrative fee of 1% will be charged on all gifts accepted into the fund.
  • Should an individual or entity conduct fundraising without approval of Camphill Foundation, the foundation has the right to return contributions to the contributors.
  • In the case of special events such as dinners and concerts, though Camphill Foundation’s name will appear on all materials, Camphill Foundation will not be liable for any loss or damages.
  • Camphill Foundation does not administer mailings or provide stationery (except for members of the board).
  • The CEO of Camphill Foundation will make every attempt to be present at events.
  • Interests from donor advised funds and field of interest funds cannot be used to pay for fundraising.
  • Where appropriate, Camphill Foundation may support the fundraising work of the group through the Foundation’s website and social media platforms.
